Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Pipeline Construction Manager to lead large-scale pipeline projects from planning through completion, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery across multi-state operations.

This is a regional position covering the following states: Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Dakota. Candidates must be open to up to 50% travel.

Job Summary:
  • Lead planning and execution of large-scale, multi-year pipeline construction projects from start to finish.
  • Oversee field operations, supervising employees and contractors to ensure safety, quality, budget, and schedule goals are met.
  • Coordinate with project managers on designs, constructability, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Direct multiple contractors to maintain efficient workflows and resolve project or scheduling conflicts.
  • Drive on-site safety efforts and ensure compliance with all company and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust resources to maintain timelines and performance standards.
  • Manage project logistics, equipment tie-ins, and closeout activities, including system start-ups and punch lists.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance construction efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.

 Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Technical training/certificate, Engineering Technology, Business, Construction Management or related field
  • 5 years of job-relevant experience, including a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license

Preferred:

  • Associate’s degree or certificate in engineering, construction management, or other job-relevant discipline
  • Experience in the implementation and use of an automated Enterprise Business System; experience with SAP would be considered a plus
  • Proficient in the application of purchasing principles, theories and concepts
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
  • FERC knowledge

  • Experience managing multiple projects and dealing with customers
  • Communicates effectively (verbally & in writing) with individuals at all levels, inside and outside the Company
  • Analytical & problem-solving skills consistent with the ability to identify key issues from a broad range of alternatives, and recommend optimal solutions for various situations
  • Thorough knowledge of project management concepts and processes, and project controls related to design, procurement and construction management
  • Ability to apply project planning & implementation and/or continuous improvement principles (typically acquired through several years of experience in these areas) to affect tangible, positive outcomes
  • Deals effectively with resistance; takes positive steps to avoid the recurrence of errors through constructive critique
  • Displays a positive attitude, is highly motivated and results oriented
  • Ability to function within a matrix organization in which functional and business leaders have equal authority within the organization and employees report to both a functional leader and a business leader
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with both a functional and business leader, who collaborate on employee issues and decisions (including performance management, compensation and development)
  • Up to 50% travel
