Job Overview:
As a Downstream Account Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving sales and fostering customer relationships within your assigned geographic area. This position demands proactive collaboration with both customers and internal teams to meet and exceed annual sales objectives. The Downstream Account Manager position is a customer interfacing member of the sales team, responsible for managing the relationship with major “downstream” accounts on behalf of the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Downstream Account Manager's primary focus will be on the company portfolio products and services and will be responsible for the following:
- Sales Initiatives: Spearhead the sales of reciprocating engines, compressors, and associated parts and services, targeting the downstream market.
- Customer Relationships: Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with both existing and potential customers, gaining insights into their business requirements and goals.
- Product Advocacy: Advocate for company technological innovations and solutions tailored to overcome operational challenges faced by customers.
- Strategic Sales Planning: Develop and implement a coherent sales strategy for designated clients to amplify growth and meet sales objectives.
- Collaborative Efforts: Work closely with technical sales support teams to ensure effective sales processes and heightened customer satisfaction.
- CRM Accuracy: Consistently update and maintain precise records within Microsoft Dynamics, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
- Travel Commitment: Dedicate roughly 70% of your time to travel within your assigned territory, enhancing customer interactions and driving sales efforts.
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
- Required: Minimum High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution, coupled with at least 7 years of experience in Sales.
- Required: At least 10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry, with a focus on sales origination.
- Required: In-depth knowledge of the refinery and petrochemical industries.
- Proven ability to build strong interpersonal relationships at various leadership levels within client organizations.
- Extensive experience with reciprocating compressors and engines is essential.
- Leadership style that is results-oriented, fostering innovation and continuous, measurable improvement through empowerment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products including Excel, Dynamics (CRM), Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- A history of strong work ethic and the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
