Job Description

Our client is looking to add a Senior Compressor Technician to their growing team! The are dedicated to providing top-notch natural gas compression equipment and services to customers around the globe, serving diverse sectors such as Oil & Gas, Power, Transportation, and Marine.

Role Summary:

The Senior Compressor Technician will be responsible for commissioning and troubleshooting engines, engine tuning, and upgrades for our clients' projects following the installation of upgraded engine components. This role requires a strong technical aptitude and expertise in engines, including mechanical, electrical, and control systems. You will be responsible for validating installed equipment, provide technical support to ensure the engine is ready for start-up, execute startup and performance tests, diagnose issues and ensure the engine meets project performance goals.

This role will represent the company professionally with customers and will require about 50% travel to client sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Must be familiar with the design and operations of reciprocating compressors and internal combustion engines, their sub-assemblies and supporting infrastructure.
  • Must be able to operate exhaust stack emissions monitoring equipment and perform data analysis using Microsoft Excel and similar software packages.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers during project execution and willingness to support cross-functional teams.
  • Must possess excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Must possess a strong desire to learn, investigate, and provide technical solutions to upgrade engine equipment for emissions improvement.
  • Must be humble, willing to accept responsibility, and work to find solutions to complex technical issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong technical expertise in engines, engine tuning, and upgrades, including an understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Familiarity with different types of engines and their performance characteristics, as well as experience with tuning and calibrating engines for optimal performance.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues related to engines, engine tuning, and upgrades.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools, software, and equipment to troubleshoot and repair engine systems.
  • Prior experience in commissioning engines or other mechanical systems
