Senior Software Engineer- Contract to Hire- USC or GREEN CARD ONLY- REMOTE

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our client's Agile software engineering team. This role will focus on designing, developing, and deploying scalable, high-performance software applications across multiple digital platforms.

The ideal candidate will bring strong software engineering expertise, enterprise architecture experience, and proficiency in modern programming languages and cloud technologies. Hands-on experience with Claude Code or Google Gemini is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable, highly available software applications using modern technologies and architectural best practices.

• Create detailed technical designs, engineering specifications, and software architecture documentation.

• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to established coding standards and performing peer code reviews.

• Leverage Claude Code or Google Gemini to support AI-assisted software development, coding efficiency, and engineering workflows.

• Evaluate and implement technical solutions that meet business requirements while optimizing application performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Participate in all Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

• Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, architects, and development teams to define user stories, acceptance criteria, estimates, and Definition of Done (DoD).

• Create, manage, and update development tasks and user stories using Jira, RTC, or similar project management tools.

• Monitor development progress, identify technical challenges, and communicate risks or blockers to team leadership.

• Contribute to architectural decisions, balancing immediate business needs with long-term technology strategies.

• Mentor junior and mid-level software engineers, providing technical guidance and promoting engineering best practices.

• Support the complete software development lifecycle, from initial concept and business analysis through implementation and production deployment.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.

• 5–10 years of professional software engineering experience, including designing, developing, and deploying scalable enterprise applications.

• Experience with Claude Code or Google Gemini is required.

• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, object-oriented programming, and software design patterns.

• 5+ years of experience with at least one modern programming language, such as:

  • Java

  • Python

  • JavaScript

  • C/C++

  • C#

  • Go

  • ACE, IIB/ITX, or Informatica

• Experience with at least two of the following technologies:

  • React

  • Angular (v4+)

  • Node.js

  • NoSQL databases

  • HTML5/CSS

  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)

• Strong experience developing and integrating web services and APIs using REST, HTTPS, and JSON.

• Experience with Python frameworks such as Django or Flask is a plus.

• Proven ability to define system architecture, assess technical feasibility, and evaluate architectural trade-offs.

• Experience developing highly available, scalable, and performance-optimized applications.

• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and modern software development practices.

• Experience using Jira, RTC, or similar Agile development and tracking tools.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and contribute effectively within a cross-functional engineering team.

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience designing, developing, or supporting technology solutions within the healthcare industry.

• Experience working with complex enterprise systems and large-scale application architectures.

• Familiarity with cloud-native application development and modern software engineering practices.

• Experience mentoring developers and providing technical leadership.

• Experience integrating AI-assisted development tools into enterprise software engineering workflows.
