Senior Epic Payer Platform Analyst- Contract to Hire- Remote
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Epic Payer Platform Analyst to configure, implement, optimize, and support Epic Payer Platform applications within a healthcare environment.
This is a senior-level role for an Epic professional who can work independently across business analysis, system configuration, workflow optimization, testing, implementation, production support, and project delivery. The ideal candidate brings strong Epic expertise along with the ability to understand complex business and healthcare workflows and translate user needs into effective system solutions.
Candidates with Epic Payer Platform, Member Experience, and/or Tapestry certification and experience are strongly preferred.
What Youll Do
- Configure, implement, maintain, and support assigned Epic Payer Platform applications.
- Conduct business and systems analysis to identify requirements, understand user needs, and document current and future-state processes.
- Design, build, configure, test, implement, and support Epic solutions that meet business and operational requirements.
- Partner with end users and stakeholders to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application and workflow issues.
- Analyze existing workflows and user experiences to identify opportunities for optimization and process improvement.
- Develop and maintain detailed workflow analysis, system documentation, requirements, and supporting project materials.
- Configure changes within Epic environments to create standardized and comprehensive workflows.
- Evaluate current practices and recommend improvements, new functionality, and enterprise-level solutions.
- Research and assess new Epic functionality and technologies that may improve business processes and system performance.
- Perform complex problem solving, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis for application and workflow issues.
- Independently identify and initiate process-improvement opportunities.
- Support system upgrades, enhancements, configuration changes, testing, and ongoing application maintenance.
- Contribute to and independently manage medium-to-large projects, ensuring deliverables remain on track.
- Communicate project progress, risks, issues, and recommendations to stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Collaborate effectively with business users, technical teams, healthcare stakeholders, and project leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree, or equivalent applicable experience as outlined below.
- 57+ years of systems administration/application experience within one or more Epic modules.
- Current Epic Application Certification or Accreditation.
- Demonstrated experience with:
- Business and systems analysis
- Epic application configuration
- System design and implementation
- Application testing
- Workflow analysis and optimization
- Production/application support
- Troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
- Ability to independently manage complex assignments and solve technical and workflow-related problems.
- Strong critical-thinking and analytical skills.
- Excellent customer service and end-user support skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities.
- Working knowledge of project management principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare, or another relevant field.
- In lieu of a degree, 5+ years of healthcare industry experience, preferably within the health insurance/payer segment.
- Epic certification in one or more Payer Platform modules, including:
- Epic Payer Platform Core
- Epic Payer Platform Member Experience
- Epic Tapestry
- 5+ years of experience implementing and supporting Epic Payer Platform solutions within a healthcare environment.
- Healthcare payer or health insurance experience.
- Experience leading or independently managing Epic implementation, optimization, upgrade, or enhancement initiatives.

The strongest candidate will be more than an Epic support analyst. Were looking for someone who understands Epic configuration, healthcare payer workflows, systems analysis, and application optimization and can independently take a business need from requirements through configuration, testing, implementation, and ongoing support.
You should be comfortable working directly with end users and stakeholders, solving complex application problems, improving workflows, and recommending solutions that improve the overall Epic environment.
