Job Description

Title: Human Resource Specialist

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

 

The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for managing and directing the activities of the

Human Resource function. In this role, the incumbent manages areas of Recruitment,

Organization and Employee Development, Employee Performance, Compensation, and

Benefits. This position will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate employee policies,

procedures and activities, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization's

mission and talent strategy.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help maintain an organized and welcoming Office environment and present a welcoming, polite, and professional point of contact.
  • Partner with leadership to proactively communicate and increase awareness of core values and business developments.
  • Serve as the primary human resources contact for employees with regard to communication, employee relations issues, and benefits questions and needs.
  • Analyze and make recommendations regarding human resources function, including policies, training, administrative aspects, and outsourced initiatives. This includes coordination, updating, and input regarding handbooks, job descriptions, and policies as the company and laws evolves.
  • Manage the company's compensation and benefit administration. Provide resources for employees. Complete appropriate surveys and forms for employee benefits.
  • Make recommendations and process improvements to the company's recruitment process, including the application process, interview questions and documentation, and hiring decision.
  • Recruit, screen, and interview applicants to ensure a superior workforce.
  • Perform onboarding and off boarding of employees, including entrance and exit interviews.
  • Oversee employee disciplinary actions, as needed. Coordinate Performance Improvement Plans for employees. Manage employee relations issues.

 

Education / Certification

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

• Master's degree desired but not required.

 

Additional Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive Human Resources experience.

• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Strong knowledge labor law and workplace compliance.

• Working knowledge of MS Office.
