Cabling Technician

Location: Orchard Park, NY  14127

Pay Rate: $48.00/HR W2 

Hours: Full time, M-F, 7:30am-4:30pm  

Duration: 3+ months  

Description:

Needs for the Buffalo Bills Stadium project, we need technician for a large-scale installation of in-building wireless antennas in the canopy and dome, which involves installing fiber feeds to an adjacent building that will house a Verizon wireless central office.  This central office setup is substantial, including approximately 150 frames, 7 power plants, 14 strings of batteries, and 3,000 feet of cable rack

Skills:

• Techs will be asked to support cabling needed for the new Buffalo Bills Stadium
• A full-time commitmentfrom mid-September through the end of the year, likely finishing before Christmas
• This is considered a long-term engagementwhere having the same technicians show up every day is preferred to maintain work rhythm
• Technicians must undergo specific onsite safety training, a first aid class, and a drug screenrequired by the main contractor, Turner
• The work environment is ladder-unfriendly, requiring everything to be done from low rolling scaffolds
• The cabling will be ANS-pulled and base-up supported, with room installations only going to 9 feet
• Technicians will be responsible for roughing of cabling, switching, prioritizing standards, logging, and terminating
• Techs must be able to perform network drops, have the ability to terminate Cat 5 cabling and perform punch downs
