Job Description

Desktop Support Technician

Location: Garden City, NY 11530

Pay Rate: $34.00/HR W2

Hours: Full Time, Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM

Duration: 6 months (possible extension / permanent hire)

Description:

  • Onsite Desktop Support for end users
  • Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the busiest days, with approximately 20 users onsite.
  • Employees are generally required to work onsite 1–2 days per week, with the remaining days worked remotely. Staff may choose which days they come in.
  • Common support requests include:
    • Laptop swaps
    • Password resets
    • Assisting CPHL Facilities/Technicians with issues remotely
  • Walk-ins are permitted for emergencies only. All other support requests must have a ticket submitted in advance.
  • Staff from Flushing, Farmingdale, Brooklyn, Jamaica, and remote users often utilize the GC office, as it is the closest location for them.
  • Thursdays and Fridays are typically lighter, with 10 or fewer users onsite.

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience imaging PCs and laptops
  • Proven experience using Active Directory
  • Proven experience using Remote Desktop tools
  • Good communication skills
  • Exceptional organizing and time-management skills
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+) is an advantage
