Desktop Support Technician
Location: Houston, TX 77030
Rate: $29.00/HR W2
Hours: Part-Time, Tues-Thurs, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Duration: Open-ended contract
Description:
- Setting up, installing, and maintaining computer hardware and software systems
- Troubleshooting and resolving computer issues, such as errors, connectivity problems, or hardware failures
- Running diagnostic tests and performing regular upgrades
- Providing technical support and ensuring data protection
- Repairing computer equipment and network devices
- Removing viruses, and troubleshooting malware, adware, spyware, etc.
- Adjusting computer hardware components to ensure better performance
- Diagnosing network connectivity problems
- Providing users with technical training and assistance when necessary
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as computer technician
- Good knowledge of computer systems (PC and Point of Sales equipment), printers, mobile phones, tablets and peripherals
- Good knowledge of computer operating systems (Microsoft)
- Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
- Basic knowledge and experience with LAN/WAN networks
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Good communication skills
- Exceptional organizing and time-management skills
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+) is an advantage
