Material Handler
Pay Rate: $16.00/HR W2
Hours: M-F, 8:30am-5am
Location: Erlanger, KY
Duration: 3+ months, likely conversion to permanent
Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team in managing the physical flow of inventory within our warehouse. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of equipment, from receiving and put-away to picking, shipping, and providing support for our configuration center. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining a well-organized and productive warehouse environment.
- Receiving:
- Receive incoming inventory, verifying quantities and condition against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect received items for damage and discrepancies, reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Accurately record receiving data into the inventory management system.
- Unload and stage received materials in designated areas.
- Put-Away:
- Efficiently and accurately put away received inventory into designated storage locations, ensuring proper labeling and organization.
- Utilize the warehouse management systems (WMS) or other inventory tracking tools to record put-away transactions.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Picking:
- Accurately pick inventory according to pick lists or work orders, ensuring correct items and quantities are selected.
- Utilize scanners or other picking tools to optimize picking efficiency.
- Stage picked items for shipping or delivery to the configuration center.
- Shipping:
- Prepare and package inventory for shipment, ensuring proper protection and labeling.
- Generate shipping labels and documentation using carrier systems (e.g., FedEx, UPS, DHL).
- Load shipments onto trucks or other transportation vehicles.
- Configuration Center Support:
- Transport and stage equipment for configuration and deployment.
- Assist technicians with the movement and handling of equipment within the configuration center.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace within the configuration center.
- Inventory Management:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Report inventory discrepancies and assist in resolving them.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the WMS.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the warehouse supervisor or manager.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a warehouse or material handling role.
- Experience handling IT equipment is a plus.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills.
- Forklift certification a plus.
- Must be able to pass a 10-panel drug-test, criminal background check
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate (verbal & written) professionally in English
