Job Title: Tax Accountant – 8 week contract

Client Location: Columbus, GA

Ability to work remote:  Columbus or Atlanta preferred

Seeking a candidate with 4-6 years of strong experience in sales and use tax. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of the process, be resourceful in finding solutions, and require minimal coaching or training.

Duties:

• Responsible for preparation and review of sales and use tax returns workpapers, including gathering data, running Alteryx workflows to format the data, and working with outside provider to prepare and file the returns. 
• Ensures that all appropriate tax returns and payments are filed in a timely manner.
• Prepares the accounting entries related to sales and use taxes and gross receipts taxes. 
• Prepares the account reconciliations and investigates discrepancies.  Supports sales tax audits.

• Microsoft Excel
• Oracle Fusion and Oracle FCCS
• Sales tax engines:  Vertex, and Avatax
• Alteryx
