Logistics Coordinator
Location: San Jose, CA 95131
Pay Rate: $35.00/HR W2
Hours: Full time, M-F, 9am-6pm
Duration: 3-5 months (potential for extension or permanent hire)
Description:
The person is responsible for managing defective part returns, scanning serial numbers, organizing materials, and ensuring that all shipments are properly labeled and sorted. This role involves close coordination with the Service Logistics team to maintain organization, track inventory, and assist in material handling, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately. Additionally, the individual will work with the RMA returns process, managing the receipt and shipment of returned parts.
- Defective Part Management:
- Retrieve defective parts from shipments and inspect packaging.
- Accurately scan and record serial numbers of defective parts.
- Write UPS order numbers on boxes using a red marker to ensure proper labeling and sorting.
- Follow specific instructions to handle parts without serial numbers (e.g., CBL, SNK, FAN, etc.).
- Maintain accurate data records by scanning defective part serial numbers into the designated file.
- Ensure that each part is stored in the correct location for easy retrieval and accurate order tracking.
- Material Organization and Storage:
- Open incoming packages, check for smaller boxes inside, and label them with appropriate UPS order numbers.
- Store parts in designated areas based on reference numbers and UPS order numbers.
- Manage storage area organization, implementing improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Sort packages by UPS order number and ensure all items are correctly allocated.
- RMA Returns Processing:
- After opening and scanning parts, identify the correct box to receive parts from the Logistics team.
- Locate and attach the appropriate RMA return label to each box.
- Prepare packages to be sent to the RMA department, ensuring accurate labeling and sorting.
- Work with RMA returns shipments; upon receipt of returned shipments from the RMA department, scan the returns and identify defective parts.
- Accurately record and categorize defective items, ensuring they are placed in the correct storage locations for further processing.
- Inventory and Physical Counts:
- Conduct monthly physical inventory counts and reconcile any variances between physical inventory and digital records.
- Ensure proper documentation is maintained for all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- General Warehouse Operations:
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines for handling materials.
- Assist in building, unwrapping, and transporting packages as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to improve efficiency and workflow.
Skills:
- Prior warehouse experience or similar role preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle materials with care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with various teams.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Quick learner with the ability to rapidly adapt to new processes.
- Ability to scan items quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
