VMWare Administrator
Pay Rate: $40.00/hour
Hours: Full time, M-F, 8am-5pm
Location: Remote
Duration: 3 months initially, multi-year deployment

Support for a distributed VMware VxRail and Dell R series/PowerStore converged environment supporting mission critical VA clinical applications. This resident will initially start with 3-month engagement with full intent to extend to a multi-year deployment after initial engagement. Description:

Dell Technologies and Ecosystem is high availability, high SLA, high performance, offering failover and failback across TIC sites: Dell R series server and PowerStore VMware converged infrastructure

 

• VMware admin and continuity services

 

 

• VMware SRM and Dell EMC RecoverPoint

 

 

• Set up OME and AIOPS across enterprise

 

 

• HW and VMware reporting

 

 

• HW utilization/capacity and VMware reporting

 

Dell Data Domain Data Protect appliance (quantity 2 @ TICs) – need to set up native VM integration backup policy from PowerStore and bidirectionally replicate backups between north and south tics.

Dell VxRail - two VxRail at TIC locations approximately 10 VxRail within VISN (approx. 12 total)

 

• VMware admin and continuity services

 

 

• Set up OME and AIOPS across enterprise

 

 

• Set up and manage replication services between TIC VxRail

 

 

• HW utilization/capacity and VMware reporting

 

Skills:

• High level VMware experience
• VxRail administration – proprietary to Dell
• Vcenter technical experience and understanding
• Dell 4 node HA converged infrastructure with PowerStore
• VxRail reporting and automation
• HA servers/storage/networking experience
• Dell iDRAC, AIOps2, and OME - system status and reporting
• DataProtect backup, backup schedules, backup reporting
• SRM Administration – site recovery manager
• Continuity of operations between sites (CooP)
