Field Service Technician
Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000
Hours: Full time, M-F, 8am-5pm
Location: Valley View, OH

Description:

  • Travel to customer site to do start-up and training, and technical support for Visi-Trak’s process monitoring and control systems and sensors and software products. Individual will work with Visi-Trak Engineers and Field Service personnel until fully trained to work in the field. Will initially be trained in the assembly and testing and troubleshooting of Visi-Trak’s computer monitoring and control systems.
  • Provide remote technical support via phone, e-mail and TeamViewer for Visi-Trak’s customers who call or e-mail with questions or issues related to their Sense, Monitor, or Control Systems and other Visi-Trak products.
  • Work closely with Visi-Trak sales personnel in the U.S. to assist with trade shows and demonstrations and other projects related to securing new business.
  • Work closely with Visi-Trak Software and Hardware Engineers to resolve quality issues with Visi-Trak’s systems (hardware and software issues).
  • Assist with the development of new software and hardware users’ manuals, site preparation manuals, and training manuals.
  • Test and troubleshoot/repair new circuit boards.
  • Test and set up new systems including program loading and configuration.
  • In house electrical testing & research.
  • Evaluate, upgrade, and repair systems and components.
  • Troubleshooting and repair of products that are returned for evaluation. 7. Help with prototyping projects and testing new releases for our application software programs.

 

Skills:

  • Associates degree in electronics or related, applicable field or equivalent military training.
  • Engineering degree is a plus.
  • Ability to speak English.
  • IT and/or Computer Skills is a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work in die casting plants. Ability to evaluate evidence and synthesize appropriate action plans.
  • Ability to diagnose and solve technical issues (software & hardware).
  • Mechanical aptitude/experience a plus.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Self-motivator and willingness to take initiative when necessary.
  • Good attitude and willingness to learn and be a team player.
  • PLC/HMI experience is a plus.
