Role: CSU - Control System Specialist - Intermediate
Location: McArthur River
Duration: 07/13/2026 - 12/31/2026 (5 months)
Role Description / Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all work is completed safely while adhering to all safety and cybersecurity program requirements.
- Develop PLC and DCS programs based on engineering documentation including P&IDs and control narratives.
- Test, modify, and update PLC and DCS programs to verify functionality aligns with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Configure, test, and commission industrial networking devices including switches, firewalls, and interfaces between Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Information Technology (IT) systems.
- Participate in verification of field device functionality alongside commissioning team members and troubleshoot PLC/DCS-related issues.
- Identify, document, and follow up on deficiencies to ensure satisfactory resolution and closure.
- Complete commissioning documentation including check sheets, ITPs, and test reports as defined by Cameco.
- Record accurate as-left conditions of PLC and DCS configurations and programming through redlines of engineering documentation and drawings.
- Participate in commissioning meetings including daily toolbox talks, safety meetings, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) activities.
- Support the development of detailed execution plans for commissioning activities.
- Monitor work schedules and productivity while collaborating with project teams to resolve issues and barriers.
Skills / Previous Experience
- Extensive PLC programming experience with Schneider PLCs and Control Expert (formerly Unity Pro).
- Extensive DCS configuration and programming experience with Delta-V systems (Key Lake only).
- Experience with Delta-V DCS Historian and integration with OSI PI via OPC-UA (Key Lake only).
- Extensive DCS configuration and programming experience with EcoStruxure Foxboro DCS systems (Cigar Lake and McArthur River only).
- Experience with EcoStruxure Foxboro DCS Historian and OSI PI integration through OPC drivers (Cigar Lake and McArthur River only).
- Expert knowledge of industrial instrumentation and industrial communication protocols with emphasis on Modbus TCP/IP and HART.
- Extensive industrial networking experience including configuration of switches, firewalls, and related hardware.
- Strong understanding of industrial cybersecurity best practices.
- Experience with Windows Server administration including creation and maintenance of virtual machines in Hyper-V is considered an asset.
Education / Certifications
- Relevant technical diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
- Industrial cybersecurity training or certifications considered an asset.
- Valid safety and site access certifications required prior to mobilization.
