Role: Project Engineer, intermediate or senior
Work Location: Saskatoon, SK
Notes: Remote hybrid work arrangement. Travel to corporate office may be required.
Occasional travel to northern Saskatchewan or Ontario sites may be required.
Contract Duration: 06/09/2026 to 12/31/2027

Job Summary
Cameco is seeking a skilled and driven Project Engineer to join our Technical Services team. This role is focused on the execution of sustaining capital projects, both in Ontario and Northern Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary engineering efforts, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Technical Oversight
Serve as the technical lead during the design phase and primary contact for technical inquiries during construction and commissioning.
Manage engineering scope, schedule, and budget in alignment with overall project goals, including management of engineering resources to support the work.
Coordinate and provide technical oversight for work carried out with external consultants; serve as engineering leader on work executed using internal resources
Engage with stakeholders across departments and site teams to align project objectives and expectations.
Coordinate and lead design reviews with site personnel and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment and feasibility.

Engineering & Design Coordination
Lead and support engineers and designers across disciplines to produce project deliverables.
Support procurement activities including tender document preparation, proposal evaluation, and post-award technical guidance. Coordinate vendor design reviews, shop inspections, final acceptance testing, and review of turnover documentation.
Contribute to planning and funding requests with detailed engineering estimates and material takeoffs.

Project Execution & Monitoring
Monitor project progress and provide regular reporting on engineering activities.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Assist with the planning of commissioning and construction activities on projects.
Support construction and commissioning activities as the main technical contact across projects.

Qualifications
Education & Certification
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline.

Professional Engineering registered with APEGS; PEO registration in Ontario is an asset.

Experience
8+ years of engineering experience, preferably in industrial or mining environments.
Proven track record in managing engineering components of capital projects.
Demonstrated history and understanding participating in a project-focused environment.

Skills & Attributes
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Proficiency in engineering design and project management is an asset.
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and locations.


Corporate based:
Training /Qualification Activities
• To be assigned and completed in ISN prior to attending to a Cameco safety-sensitive site (Northern SK sites)
o Location Specific Site Orientation
o Surface – Pre Access OR Underground – Pre Access (this includes completion of a substance test)
