Location: 1908 Colonel Sam Drive, Oshawa, ON 5 days a week
Job Overview
- Provide guidance and advice to employees regarding benefit offerings, eligibility, and processes.
- Respond to inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
Administration:
- Oversee the day-to-day administration of benefit programs, including enrollment, changes, terminations, and retirements.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and timely processing of transactions.
Data Management:
- Maintain and update databases with member information, including data from third-party plan administrators.
- Ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
- Perform benefit membership and adjudication data reconciliation, analysis and review
Calculations:
- Perform pension-related calculations, such as service credits, retirement estimates, and benefit entitlements.
- Communicate results clearly to members
Customer Service:
- Act as a primary point of contact for members and vendors, offering excellent customer service and building positive relationships
Education & Communication:
- Educate members on plan features, administrative processes, and changes to programs.
- Prepare and deliver presentations or written materials as needed.
Compliance:
- Ensure all benefits programs comply with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Assist with audits and reporting as required.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline administrative processes and improve the member experience
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in benefits administration or consulting
- Strong understanding of benefits programs, including regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database management
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in reviewing and validating member enrollment data
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Experience supporting benefit audits and reporting processes
- Experience working with third-party vendors and service providers is an asset
