This role supports the Steam Generator Replacement Team (SGRT) as part of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program at Bruce Power, a large refurbishment initiative extending the life of CANDU nuclear units through 2064.
The Quality Specialist supports project quality assurance and quality control activities on large nuclear infrastructure projects. The role works closely with project management and construction teams to ensure work complies with contract requirements, engineering specifications, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. The position contributes to the development of quality documentation, inspection plans, and work packages while supporting the implementation of the project’s quality management system.
Develop and maintain quality documentation and procedures aligned with project and regulatory requirements.
Identify verification, inspection, examination, and testing requirements for construction activities.
Assist with development of Comprehensive Work Packages (CWPs) including Construction Inspection and Test Plans (CITPs).
Collaborate with field engineers, project coordinators, and trade supervisors to implement quality requirements.
Route inspection and test plans for review and approval by authorized inspectors and client representatives.
Prepare and maintain quality history dockets and documentation packages.
Report quality issues or conditions affecting project compliance to the Project Quality Manager.
Support review of purchase requisitions and supplier documentation to ensure quality standards are met.
Assist with Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective action processes.
Support implementation of actions arising from corrective action reports and audits.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
Certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Technologist (CQT) are preferred.
Knowledge of nuclear codes and standards including ASME Section II, III, V, and IX.
Experience with welding procedures, nondestructive examination (NDE), and inspection methods.
Experience in construction project environments, preferably within nuclear facilities.
Ability to collaborate with project teams, regulators, and client representatives.
