Max T4 Rate: $70/17/
Max INC Rate: $82.80/
Position Summary
BC Hydro is seeking an intermediate Engineer E3 to join the Transmission Stations and Lines Estimating team. The successful candidate will support capital and maintenance projects by preparing cost estimates, developing project schedules, coordinating engineering activities, and providing technical support for transmission station and transmission line projects. The role involves working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with BC Hydro engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates and project schedules for rehabilitation, upgrade, and expansion projects.
- Support planning and execution of transmission station and transmission line projects.
- Manage assigned work packages, including scope, schedule, and cost.
- Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Present cost estimates and project information to management.
- Monitor construction methods, market conditions, and cost trends.
- Perform engineering analysis and recommend practical engineering solutions.
- Act as the Professional of Record for engineering documents, where required.
- Conduct occasional site visits throughout British Columbia.
- Support construction quality assurance and design compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with EGBC or eligible for registration.
- Minimum four years of engineering experience in estimating, design, or construction of utility, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Minimum two years of direct cost estimating experience, preferably for substations or transmission lines.
- Experience developing project schedules and cost estimates.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence.
