Must haves:
* 5-7 years of experience in program or project management.
*Be able to demonstrate that the caliber of programs or projects delivered in the past is of high complexity and/or high value/budget (preferably in a utility, engineering, or construction environment)
* Intermediate technical knowledge in a specific field (ex. Engineering, Technical, Trade, Business or Sciences) with some general knowledge of other fields
* Strong grasp of project and program management principles, various delivery models and contracting strategies
* Excellent interpersonal, organizational and management skills and the ability to work in an unstructured environment.
* Strong analytical capabilities to work with data to forecast trends and report on progress using software such as Excel and Tableau.
* Exceptional written and oral communication skills with an ability to present key project information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Asset:
* Project Management Institute (PMI) certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent is considered an asset.
* An Engineering degree or equivalent is considered an asset. A combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
Work Assignment Requirements
This project management position resides within the Distribution Design and Customer Connections (DDCC) organization and is responsible for the delivery of strategic segments of customer connection work. This role will project manage a large volume of high profile, time sensitive customer projects and will leverage and build relationships across multiple BC Hydro stakeholders to successfully deliver projects to meet mandated timelines and objectives.
Duties
* Responsible for project management activities including planning, managing, monitoring, and reporting on project tasks by using advanced skills in Microsoft Office as well as project management programs to fulfill BC Hydro’s business needs.
* Work with our internal delivery partners in Distribution Design, Engineering, Line Field Operations, Construction Services, Program Contract Management, Environment, Indigenous Relations and Safety to successfully deliver the program. * Initiate, develop, and maintain strong influential working relationships with key operational groups within BC Hydro including Key Accounts.
* Monitor, forecast, control, and report on monthly program progress while providing project status updates to all relevant Stakeholders.
