À titre de membre de l’équipe de conception mécanique basée à Pointe-Claire, la personne retenue participera au support d’ingénierie de projets en phase d’installation, pour des machines neuves ou des projets de réfection de groupes turbines de type Francis, Kaplan et hélice.

Mechanical Engineering Technician / Draftsperson
Department: Mechanical Engineering
Immediate Supervisor: Manager, Hydraulic and Mechanical Engineering
Work Location: Pointe-Claire, Québec
Our client is a Canadian and international leader in the design and manufacturing of hydroelectric equipment. From design through installation, multidisciplinary teams deliver turnkey projects that integrate high-level technical expertise while fostering innovation, collaboration, and professional rigor.
As a member of the mechanical design team based in Pointe-Claire, the successful candidate will contribute to engineering support for projects in the installation phase, involving new machines or refurbishment projects for Francis, Kaplan, and propeller-type turbine units.
Update 3D models and 2D drawings based on references, sketches, or instructions provided by an engineer or senior designer
Create bills of materials associated with drawings
Review drawings and bills of materials to ensure accuracy, compliance with customer specifications, and adherence to established design standards
Implement engineering change requests based on complex directives from manufacturing facilities or construction sites
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Enter relevant information into the materials management system (SAP)
Perform drawing revisions and produce final drawings
Ensure requested modifications comply with engineer annotations
Take ownership of assigned work schedules and delivery timelines
Be accountable for the final quality and accuracy of deliverables
Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in Industrial Drafting, Diploma of College Studies (DCS) in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
Strong knowledge of:
Heavy mechanics
Welded mechanical structures
Manufacturing and machining methods
Drafting standards and best practices
Extensive experience in 3D modeling
Strong autonomy, attention to detail, and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Bilingualism required: French and English
Knowledge of Unigraphics NX, Teamcenter, and SAP (an asset)
Knowledge of hydraulic machinery (turbines and generators) (an asset)
