Job Overview
- Provide business process and support to Department Supervisor/Manager within the accountabilities of the Department.
 - Carry out analysis related to the development, implementation, guidance and direction in the specified areas of business management; performance reporting; procedures and systems; internal control and audits; and benchmarking.
 - Provide regular reports on business performance measures including analysis of actual results or targets and measures in place.
 - Carry out requirements related to the application and support of corporate policies and practices.
 - Maintain functional relationships with the Business and external vendors.
 - Support integrity and timeliness of performance information to meet reporting and management requirements.
 - Investigates and suggests efficiency improvements in the Department's processes and procedures.
 - Collaborates with internal stakeholders.
 - Support business and related systems skill training within the Department.
 - Assist Department Manager in analyzing work processes with a view to improving them to make them more efficient and effective.
 - Programming and database management experience considered an asset
 - Comprehension of cost management, project management, and project controls basic principles, particularly in the context of data management tools, considered an asset
 
Qualifications
- Requires varying skill sets to accommodate each function; however should encompass academic subjects of planning, budgeting and performance reporting, decision support systems, business economics, business policy, process benchmarking, information systems and relevant computer skills.
 - Requires good interpersonal skills and knowledge of communication techniques. This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the completion of 4 years of University training.
 - Requires practical application in the operation of business processes and systems including associated computer systems.
 - Demonstrated experience in one or two of the following areas: reconciliation processes, business analysis and reporting.
 - Requires knowledge of operational performance reporting principles and processes.
 - Requires good verbal and written communication skills.
 - Requires demonstrated analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills. A period of over 2 years and up to and including 4 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
 - Relevant experience(>= 2 years) and education in computer science, particularly application development and database administration/design, is considered an asset.
