Role: Site C P&C Commissioning Engineer (E4)
Location: Fort St. John – Site C Construction Office
Duration: 5 months
Compensation:
- Max INC Rate: $98/hour
- Max T4 Rate: $81/hour
Work Schedule & Benefits:
- Shift: 14/7 (subject to manager approval), 10-hour days, up to 70 hours per week
- Travel: Airfare covered at cost or mileage in lieu per company policy
- Accommodation & Meals: Camp accommodations and meals provided (subject to availability)

General Description:
The E4 – Engineer is a professional engineer or geoscientist responsible for applying engineering knowledge to support commissioning, estimating, planning, and quality management for medium-complexity projects and operations. The role ensures work is completed safely, with quality, within budget, and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop safe engineering solutions by performing design work, analyzing and resolving technical issues, and interpreting engineering specifications for medium-complexity projects.
- Support project and operations management in achieving safety, cost, quality, and scheduling objectives by assisting with cost estimates, progress reports, work coordination, and contractor payment approvals.
- Solve complex technical challenges related to design and field engineering through independent studies, analysis, and decision-making.
- Contribute to engineering best practices by developing technical standards, providing guidance to junior professionals, and making recommendations on engineering methods and designs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Professional Registration: Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) with Engineers & Geoscientists BC or another jurisdiction (must be eligible for registration in BC).
- Technical Expertise: Experience in Protection & Control (P&C) and/or Electrical Design and Commissioning.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years in a relevant engineering field or equivalent.
- Software & Tools: Familiarity with CAD systems, industry design/analysis software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Communication: Intermediate English proficiency (written & spoken) required for a professional environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Engineers must have their own Permit to Practice or use their firm’s Permit to Practice with Engineers & Geoscientists BC.
- Work is conducted under the company’s Professional Practice Management Plan – Quality Management Pillar.
- Engineers may be required to subscribe to digital seal technology services (e.g., Notarius) for document sealing and signing.
- All project documentation must be retained per company policies to meet regulatory requirements.
