Job Description
Role: Duty Outage Manager (DOM)
Location: Tiverton, ON
Work Location: On Site Shift Work, including weekends and potentially night shifts
Rates: $80/ - $100/INC + per diem
Responsible for the following:
- Maintains overall responsibility of OCC
- Updates OCC Operations Shift Log (relevant to their position) prior to end of each shift.
- Acts as Single Point of Contact for outage decisions.
- Maintains overall responsibility for the outage schedule for his/her shift.
- Works with the Duty SM to ensure Power Reactor Operating Licence (PROL) requirements are met and running unit activities are not compromised by outage activities.
- Works with the Outage Specialist or Scheduler to review and maintain outage schedule.
- Approves outage priorities for the shift based on the schedule.
- Works with other OCC staff.
- Ensures resources (Outage Managers from Engineering, Operations and Maintenance, as well as supporting contractor representatives) are available to execute the outage schedule and to address issues as they arise.
- Ensures that a list of all department contacts exists and is kept up‑to‑date.
- Resolves any support and priority conflict.
- Approves critical changes in outage schedule.
- Conducts the OCC turnover and Outage Leadership meetings.
- Communicates outage information to the site through daily updates.
- Directly monitors outage execution performance indicators and takes action to correct adverse trends.
- Closely monitors critical path and notifies the Outage Execution Manager and Senior Management via the CNOs office of any delays greater than two hours.
- Informs the Outage Execution Manager and Senior Management of outage scope changes that impact cost and/or schedule.
- Informs Outage Execution Manager, Outage Planning, Plant Manager, Station Vice President, and the Vice President, Outage of any significant outage issues.
- Maintains overall responsibility for the Issues Board.
- Ensures Condition Records are being generated when appropriate and, if associated with an issue the OCC is tracking then notes it on the OCC Issues Board.
- Enforces the 10/30/60 minute rules.
- It is recommended that DOMs attend the TAMs in order to familiarize themselves with the outage work programs.
- Ensures OCC personnel are looking 24 to 48 hours ahead of the schedule and challenging responsible departments to ensure they are ready for their activities, should the schedule move.
- Identifies, with input from the MOM and the OSO, the need for Remote/Area Coordinators to coordinate complex interactions at the job site and to enhance the communication between the work site and the OCC.
- Updates (or delegates the updating of) the Plant Information Package content related to the planned or forced outage underway for the Station Leadership Meeting prior to 05:00 each #1 shift.
- Ensures anybody new joining the crew is brought up to speed on outage status, process changes, etc.
- Participates in execution of the Severe Weather Transportation Procedure
- Other duties as directed by client
