Senior Industrial Building Electrical Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Building Electrical Engineer to join the design team working in Montreal mainly in the field of industrial buildings.

The Montréal Engineering Electrical Group specializes in the institutional, commercial and light industrial sectors and has acquired a reputation for excellence in this area over the years. With the possibility of having a hybrid work mode, the majority of the projects on which the candidate will be called upon to work will take place in the Montreal area and its surroundings. The projects targeted are of a light industrial nature, mainly the battery sector, which has recently been in the media coverage as well as other types of manufacturing buildings.


Your role within the team:

• Lead electrical design teams for assigned projects.
• Collect baseline data from the client and other stakeholders.
• Prepare, verify and monitor work schedules and budgets.
• Lead all phases of system design such as distribution, lighting, fire alarms, access control, video surveillance, grounding and other related systems.
• Participate in and lead coordination meetings.
• Write electrical specifications.
• Evaluate the costs of the work.
• Supervise the supervision of the work.
• Provide support to the customer and technical staff.

The ideal candidate:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on building.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the field of electrical engineering of industrial and/or institutional buildings, mandatory.
• Be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
• Possess a good knowledge of the industrial and institutional environment.
• Ability to lead and lead electrical projects.
• Ability to "coach" more junior and intermediate engineers.
• Fluency in French and English (spoken and written).
