The Solution Architect is a leader across the development, architecture, data, and business organizations. They work closely with members of their team acting as a servant leader, coordinates multiple team initiatives ensuring alignment and communication are ever-present, and works alongside business owners and leaders constantly validating business needs for delivered solutions. The role is expected to partner with other architects, senior leaders, and product teams to create scalable, flexible, and resilient architectures that address customer business problems. The Solution Architect requires no supervision or oversight. They are self-motivated individuals who have strong time management skills, project management, and communication skills that enable them to take-on and lead group based special interest initiatives.

What will the employee do in this role?
  •  Lead team members in solution designs and work breakdown.
  •  Participate in all phases of the solution delivery.
  •  Define the vision and roadmap of technology-based solutions for the development group.
  •  Responsible for design of new software and solutions or extensive software revisions to existing.
  •  Be a top-level technical expert by creating high-level architectural specifications and addressing problems of systems integration and compatibility.
  •  Collaborate with management to perform research of the technical feasibility of business needs.
  •  Mentor development roles by guiding them through architectural principles, solution design, and best practices, ensuring alignment with the overall technical vision.
  •  Evangelize and evolve development and design standards and best practices.
  • Communicate and work alongside members of their team in support of their day-to-day work items.
  •  Work with business partners to ensure alignment between the ask and the output.
  •  Perform peer reviews and sign-off for other team member’s work to ensure adherence to defined architectural standards.
  •  Learn and integrate business processes by actively engaging with business partners to ensure alignment between technical solutions and organizational objectives.
  •  Serve as an escalation point for team members on technical issues.
  •  Lead internal training opportunities within the development group.
  •  Perform business and technical knowledge transfer with their peers.
  •  Pursue continuous education to master new technologies, agile processes, programming languages, industry best practices, and tools that are needed within the company.
What Skills & Qualifications Do You Need?
Education
  • Bachelor's degree. Years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Work Experience
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in technology with a focus on software development
  • 3-5 years of experience with business analysis and systems design
  • 1-3 years of experience in a leadership role (principal engineer, tech lead, team lead, architect, etc.)
Certifications
  • Azure or AWS Solution Architect preferred or acquired within first 12 months of the role.
  • SAFe Architect preferred or acquired within first 12 months of the role.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Cloud Technologies: Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of architectural frameworks, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Software Development: Strong background in software development and familiarity with multiple programming languages and frameworks.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams or enable other leaders.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
