Litigation Legal Assistant
Downtown Toronto
Hybrid Work Arrangement offered - Up to 3 days work from home
Our client, a vibrant and highly regarded law firm located in the core of downtown Toronto, is in need of a bright, on the ball litigation assistant to join its team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide legal assistant support creating documents, revisions and correspondence through transcription and copy-typing,
- Complete expense reports, courier forms, file opening forms, photocopying, scanning, faxing, filing and creation of file folders
- Photocopy and/or organize documents for distribution, mailing and binding
- Schedule and confirm appointments, meetings and conferences
- Prepare and generate pre-bills for monthly billing, as needed
- Book travel and make reservations, as required
- Organize, maintain and accurately file correspondence, invoices and receipts via paper and digital formats
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Legal Assistant Diploma from an accredited institution, with 5+ years experience working within a similar role
- Hands-on experience working with court or ministry forms as it relates to the litigation practice area
- Working knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure
- Experience working with ACL
- Experience with creating basic Excel and PowerPoint charts
