Real Estate Clerk

Our client, a premier law firm known for its professionalism and friendly congenial work environment is in need of a Commercial Real Estate Law Clerk to join its team.
The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational talent along with the ability to multi-task and prioritize. This is a good position for you if you’re a self-starter possessing excellent writing and communication skills as well as the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Carriage of Commercial Real Estate files from beginning to end including preparation of all documents relating to purchase, sale, mortgage, and refinancing from both private and institutional lenders
- Standard document preparation in relation to larger property acquisitions, dispositions and financings
- Review title searches and prepare title memorandum, prepare off-title search letters, oversee off-title searches and draft requisition letters and responses
- Deal directly with clients, financial institutions, municipalities, land registry offices and title insurance companies
- Review and negotiate title insurance policies and prepare record books after closing
Requirements:
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience as a Real Estate Law Clerk including strong knowledge of commercial real estate matters
- Successful completion of a related post-secondary education program in a legal assistant or law clerk program
- ILCO certification
- Proficiency with Teraview is required
- Flexibility to work overtime when needed
- Strong knowledge of title matters
