Job Description
The Lincoln Group has partnered with a leader in the client services industry in search of a Tax Manager, on a direct-hire basis, to join their exceptional team! The Tax Manager role will work under the supervision of a Partner and/or Director. A Manager will support the firm’s clients in the duties listed below and provide support and leadership to the staff they work with. Some duties listed below are subject to the department the Manager primarily manages.
Type of Hire: Direct Hire
Software: Regularly use QuickBooks Online and Desktop with proficiency
Location: Lubbock TX
Compensation: $92K - $122K, plus discretionary bonus
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
- Prepare and review all types of tax returns (e.g., 1040, 1120, 1065) efficiently and effectively.
- Prepare and review all accounting activities for clients.
- Assist with client projects and function as the lead for client relationships.
- Develop and maintain client relationships through comprehensive knowledge of tax planning, including estate planning.
- Handle client calls and meetings as required.
- Work with the team on tax projects and assist with workflow on office projects.
- Identify additional client needs and update clients promptly.
- Support the firm’s advisory services and participate in firm initiatives such as coaching programs and other activities.
- Actively participate in billing and WIP analysis with Managers, Partners, and Seniors.
- Train and develop other team members.
- Identify potential improvements in processes and procedures.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive information.
- Occasionally travel to client offices or meetings using a personal vehicle.
- Increased hours may be required during tax season.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Detail-oriented, accurate, and extremely organized.
- Strong client service skills and a demonstrated service mentality.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to actively listen.
- Able to set priorities and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced office environment.
- Skilled in both team collaboration and leading team members, with experience managing others’ assignments.
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online and Desktop.
- Knowledgeable in GAAP and Tax Basis Accounting – Cash & Accrual.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance required.
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Minimum of 5 years in public accounting preferred.
- CPA highly desirable.
