Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time
Salary: $80,000–$95,000 CAD + Annual Bonus

About the Opportunity

Leap Recruitment Partners is partnering with a leading global specialty insurance organization to recruit a Claims Examiner (E&O).

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of complex Professional Liability (E&O) claims from initial reporting through final resolution.
• Investigate coverage, liability, and damages while applying sound claims handling practices and technical expertise.
• Utilize working knowledge of Commercial General Liability (CGL) and related casualty lines to manage multi-line exposures where applicable.
• Maintain accurate claim documentation, timely diary management, reserve updates, and clear coverage positions.
• Develop and execute effective resolution strategies, including negotiations, mediations, settlements, and litigation management.
• Direct and collaborate with external legal counsel throughout litigation, mediations, and trials.
• Communicate proactively with brokers, insureds, legal counsel, third-party administrators, and internal stakeholders.
• Participate in broker meetings, renewal discussions, and client-facing conversations as required.
• Identify claim trends, emerging risks, and loss patterns while providing insights and recommendations to leadership.
• Ensure all claims are managed in accordance with company policies, claims philosophy, reserving guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Effectively prioritize workload and manage competing deadlines while maintaining exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of claims handling experience, preferably within Professional Liability, Errors & Omissions (E&O), and/or Commercial General Liability (CGL).
• Property claims experience is considered an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex claims files and make sound coverage and settlement decisions.
• University degree preferred.
CIP designation or actively working toward completion.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using AI productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot or similar is considered an asset.
• Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
