Job Description

Commercial Service Broker, Client Service & Risk Management

Location: Vaughan, ON
Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time

About Our Client

Leap Recruitment Partners is proud to partner with a respected insurance brokerage specializing in commercial and institutional insurance solutions. With a strong reputation for technical expertise and exceptional client service, our client offers a collaborative environment where insurance professionals can build rewarding, long-term careers.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commercial Lines professional looking to manage a sophisticated portfolio while delivering outstanding service to valued clients.

The Opportunity

As the Commercial Service Broker, you will be the primary service contact for an established portfolio of commercial clients. Working closely with producers and insurance carriers, you'll manage the full policy lifecycle—from renewals and endorsements to claims advocacy and risk management support.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex insurance challenges, providing trusted advice, and building lasting client relationships. While you'll support new business initiatives, your primary focus will be on delivering outstanding client service and retaining an established book of business.

Key Responsibilities

Client Service & Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary service contact for an assigned portfolio of commercial clients.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries regarding coverage, certificates, billing, policy changes, and claims.
  • Explain insurance coverages, policy terms, and recommend solutions that align with clients' evolving needs.
  • Build long-term client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships through account rounding, cross-selling, and referrals.

Policy Administration & Renewals

  • Manage the complete renewal process, including policy reviews, remarketing where appropriate, negotiating with insurers, and presenting renewal recommendations.
  • Prepare applications and quotations for new business and remarketed accounts.
  • Process endorsements, cancellations, policy changes, and other servicing transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation within the Broker Management System (BMS).

Claims & Risk Management

  • Act as the primary brokerage contact for claims reporting and follow-up.
  • Advocate for clients throughout the claims process while maintaining communication with insurance carriers.
  • Identify coverage gaps and recommend appropriate insurance solutions to help clients better manage risk.

Financial & Compliance

  • Assist with premium collection, account reconciliation, and outstanding receivables.
  • Ensure all transactions comply with brokerage standards, RIBO requirements, and privacy legislation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of commercial insurance products, underwriting trends, and regulatory changes.

Sales Support

  • Collaborate with Commercial Producers on new business opportunities.
  • Assist with submissions, market negotiations, coverage analysis, and proposal preparation.

What We're Looking For

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of Commercial Lines insurance experience.
  • Strong understanding of commercial insurance products including Property, Liability, Professional Liability, Cyber, D&O, and related commercial coverages.
  • Experience servicing mid-market and complex commercial accounts is considered a strong asset.

Licensing & Education

  • Current RIBO Licence is required (or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire).
  • CIP, CRM, CAIB, FCIP, or progress toward an industry designation is considered an asset.
  • Post-secondary education is preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Experience with Broker Management Systems such as EPIC, Applied Systems, PowerBroker, Vertafore, or TAM.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Personal Attributes

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Client-focused and relationship driven
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • A strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
  • Analytical and confident making sound decisions
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative, professional, and committed to delivering exceptional client service

Why Join Our Client?

  • Join a highly respected commercial insurance brokerage with a strong reputation in the marketplace.
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of commercial clients and become a trusted advisor on complex insurance risks.
  • Work alongside experienced industry professionals in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

  • Enjoy a competitive compensation package, comprehensive benefits, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
