Job Description
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for patients and clients.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.
• Provide medical nutrition therapy based on clinical conditions and evidence based guidelines.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients, families, and staff on therapeutic diets, nutrition principles, and healthy eating habits.
• Document assessments, interventions, and progress notes in accordance with regulatory and facility standards.
• Participate in menu planning, quality improvement initiatives, and policy development related to nutrition services.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including food safety and sanitation standards.
• Support the implementation of nutrition care plans under Dietitian supervision.
• Monitor patient food intake, tolerance, and adherence to prescribed diets.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field.
• Completion of an accredited dietetic internship.
• Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential.
• State licensure (CDN if doesn’t have RD/RDN licensure maybe acquired after being hired).
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and cultural competence.
