This Temporary staff position is a high priority request from the Social Security Administration. It is required to perform critical tasks in the DDD budget-funded Cooperative Disability Investigations (CDI) Unit at the DDD Office in New York City.
The candidate will be working with staff from NYS Office of the Attorney General, NYS Office of the Medicaid Inspector General, SSA Office of the Inspector General (OIG), SSA New York Regional Office, and DDD.
The mission of the CDI Unit is to combat fraud by investigating questionable statements and activities of disability claimants, medical providers, interpreters, or other service providers who facilitate or promote disability fraud. Staff assigned to the CDI Unit may handle materials that will assist DDD in making timely and accurate disability decisions and be used to pursue criminal prosecutions and/or civil/administrative actions against persons committing fraud.
The candidate must be experienced and be able to proficiently carry out these duties:
Computer skills including the following:
o Video editing.
o Outlook, Word and Excel.
o Familiarity with Social Media websites.
o Some familiarity with video recording devices.
Clerical skills, such as:
o Answering phones. Input data on computer, reviewing forms for accuracy and/or appropriateness.
o Picking up and distributing material to various areas, e.g. mail, printer or scanner output.
o Scanning documents; copying or faxing material as directed.
