Job Description:
This position will support the Public Safety Portfolio in the development and maintenance of business solutions on SQL Server and Oracle platforms using advanced database development techniques. The person will be expected to design complex relational database systems, develop PL/SQL objects, and create ETL process using shell scripting and SQL. The person will be expected to follow agency software lifecycle methodologies, create design documents, perform coding/debugging/testing develop.
Day to Day:
This individual will be expected to participate in the following activities:
• Implementing Integrated Justice Portal standards related to database development
• Utilize uses cases, business requirements documents, and flow diagrams to design complex relational databases
• Follow all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - analysis, design, testing, implementation, maintenance
• Follow and contribute to agency standards and utilize industry best practices
• Develop queries and stored procedures for data extraction, using SQL and one or more relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server; write complex efficient SQL
• Perform ongoing support for production applications – including system monitoring, processing, user support, and performance tuning
• Create, maintain, and deploy batch processes to support portfolio business processes
• Research emerging technologies to improve current processes
Mandatory Qualifications:
IT Specialist: Works in the field of Information Technology, experienced in the usage and support of a collection of development platforms, technical architectures or business applications and products that run on those platforms - beyond that of a Programmer.
Expert: 84+ Months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
Requested Qualifications:
- 84 months experience creating Views, Triggers, stored procedures, functions, and writing SQL in Oracle (12c or higher) and SQL Server (2014 or higher.
- 84 months of experience using data modeling tools such as ERWIN to create physical and logical data models, reverse engineer existing databases, and compare existing databases in SQL Server (2014 or higher) and Oracle (12c or higher.)
- 84 months of experience developing complex ETL processes using shell scripts (Korn, Bash, and Power Shell), SQL scripts, PL/SQL, and T-SQL objects.
- 84 months of experience performing data analysis and creating reports for customers.
- 84 months of experience optimizing SQL queries and debugging PL/SQL packages, functions, and procedures
- 60 months of experience developing Korn shell and bash shell scripts in a Linux environment.
