NY Gun Safety

Provide a short description of the Position: This position will design and implement software solutions and ensure current and new technologies are effectively integrated to fulfill the business needs.

Day-to-Day:

Provide a list of the day to day tasks to be performed by the Selected Candidate: This individual will be expected to participate in the following activities:

- Implementing Integrated Justice Portal standards related to database development
- Utilize uses cases, business requirements documents, and flow diagrams to design complex relational databases
- Follow all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - analysis, design, testing, implementation, maintenance
- Follow and contribute to agency standards and utilize industry best practices
- Develop queries and stored procedures for data extraction, using SQL against databases; write complex efficient SQL
- Perform ongoing support for production applications – including system monitoring, processing, user support, and performance tuning
- Create, maintain, and deploy batch processes to support Gun Safety business processes
- Research emerging technologies to improve current processes
- Create data dictionaries and business glossaries

Mandatory Requirements:

Software Architect - Makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms. Designs multi-leveled architecture or component interactions of a large-scale software system.

Expert - 84+ Months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.

Requested Requirements: 
- 84 months experience creating Views, Triggers, stored procedures, functions, and writing SQL in Oracle (12c or higher) 
- 84 months of experience using a data modeling tools such as ERWIN to create physical and logical data models, reverse engineer existing databases, and compare existing databases in Oracle (12c or higher)
- 84 months of experience developing complex ETL processes using shell scripts (Korn, Bash, and Power Shell), SQL scripts, and PL/SQL. 
- 84 months of experience performing data analysis and creating reports for customers 
- 84 months of experience optimizing SQL queries and debugging PL/SQL objects (packages, functions, and procedures) 
- 60 months of experience developing Korn shell and bash shell scripts in a Linux environment
