1. Minimum Candidate Qualifications:
The candidate must have a minimum of:
a. Project Coordinator Certificate
b. Paralegal Certificate
c. Eligible to work in New York State
2. Job Description and Required Services:
Assists DFS Climate Division by researching legal precedent, investigating facts, or preparing documents. The Paralegal is also expected to conduct research to support the Climate Division in its projects and day to day functions. Must have knowledge of basic legal processes; legal terminology and legal forms; legal research techniques; ability to read, understand and interpret laws, legal documents and other written material. In addition, the Paralegal must also support the division’s leadership by handling administrative and organizational tasks to ensure the Climate Division’s projects run smoothly. As part of this responsibility, the Paralegal must have experience managing schedules, tracking progress, and facilitating communication among team members and stakeholders. This includes creating and updating project timelines, coordinating meetings, and managing calendars.
In addition, the candidate must possess the following skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
