NYSP Traffic Records Management
This project will result in deployment, training and support of NYSP Traffic Records Management Systems to over 528 police agencies across the state of New York. These systems are used for electronic traffic ticketing as well as incident and accident reporting.
Day to Day Tasks
Day to day tasks include but are not limited to the following:
1. Coordinate and implement municipal law enforcement agency TraCS systems and database architectures.
2. Install, configure and maintain enterprise-scale SQL and Oracle database environments.
3. Coordinate and implement large scale database conversions and migrations from disparate systems.
4. Direct build revisions of TraCS releases.
5. Perform version testing and release control of TraCS.
6. Direct the setup and installation of TraCS implementations.
7. Lead conversions of legacy MS Access databases.
8. Provide advanced support and troubleshooting of TraCS systems.
9. Coordinate and conduct classroom style trainings to local police agencies.
10. Develop training materials such as FAQs, how to guides, manuals, and course curriculum.
11. Conduct testing of applications.
12. Develop test plans for testing applications.
13. Lead/Assist with train the trainer and agency level TraCS systems administration.
14. Install, maintain and troubleshoot the State Police Integrated Data Exchange Router (SPIDER) client.
15. Install and configure TraCS Web Services.
16. Setup, test and troubleshoot mobile platform connectivity solutions.
17. Coordinate with municipal IT staff and vendors for the implementation and maintenance of TraCS.
18. Engage in extensive travel throughout New York State in supporting police agencies that are implementing and using TraCS.
Mandatory Qualifications
Database Architect - Determines database structural requirements by analyzing client operations, applications, and programming; reviews objectives with clients; evaluates current systems; provides database support by coding utilities, responding to user questions, and resolving problems.
Expert - 84+ months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
Requested Qualifications
- 84 months of experience working with systems administrators and end users to troubleshoot both hardware and software issues.
- 84 months of experience working in a second-tier, or higher, service desk environment.
- 60 months of experience coordinating and implement large scale database conversions and migrations from disparate systems.
- 60 months of experience installing, configuring and maintaining enterprisescale Oracle and SQL database environments.
- 84 months experience leading and directing installations and upgrades of TraCS evnironments.
- 84 months of experience installing, configuring and supporting SPIDER.
- 60 months of experience developing training materials and providing classroom instruction.
- 60 months of experience supporting mobile computing and connectivty solutions in a law enforcement environment.
- Posses a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited institution.
