Job Description

Project/Program:
To fulfill the duties of a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist.

Day-to-Day Tasks:
- Assist with developing, testing, implementing and maintaining desktop, server and mobile GIS applications and workflows.
- Document spatial workflows, procedures, and applications.
- Assist with the design, construction, management, and documentation of GIS datasets.
- Assist with management of IT infrastructure that supports GIS platform.
- Assist with mapping or analysis needs.
- Respond to GIS service desk tickets.
- Support NY State emergency response efforts.

Mandatory Qualification:
IT Specialist -
Works in the field of Information Technology, experienced in the usage and support of a collection of development platforms, technical architectures or business applications and products that run on those platforms - beyond that of a Programmer.

Senior -
60 - 84 months: Candidate is able to work independently, without assistance and provides guidance to others. May have an advanced education.

Requested Qualifications:
- 60 months of mapping and spatial analysis experience using ArcGIS Desktop/Pro.
- 36 months of experience developing data ETL workflows using one or more of the following tools: Safe Software Feature Manipulation Engine (FME), Oracle Data Integretor, SQL Server Integration Studio, ArcGIS Data Intereoperability Extension.
- 36 months of experience configuring and administering Esri-based web mapping applications for browser or mobile based solutions.
- 12 months of experience automating tasks using Python.
