Grants Finance Modernization
NYSED has onboarded a vendor to implement a Grants Financial Management System (GFMS) at NYSED. A Project Manager plans, organizes and integrates cross-functional information technology projects that are significant in scope and impact. The candidate will assist on a legacy modernization project and manage a team of Business Analysts
Day to Day Tasks:
The Project Manager will:
- Oversee the day-to-day work of the Business Analysts and other contracted staff on the project.
- Manage/organize project artefacts in Confluence and/or JIRA.
- Act as a point of contact for the Project Manager on the implementation Vendor team.
- Ensure that the modernization project is delivered per the Project
- Management Plan approved by NYSED and meets the requirements set forth in the executed contract.
- Report risks/issues to the Project Director/Business Lead in a timely manner.
Mandatory Requirements:
Project Manager - Plans, organizes and integrates cross-functional information technology projects that are significant in scope and impact.
Expert - 84+ months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
Requested Requirements:
- 84 months experience as a certified Project Manager with experience directly managing project execution, costing/budget, establishing/maintaining project
schedules, scoping requirements, managing change working with multiple teams, monitoring / mitigating project risks, and periodic status reporting.
- 84 months experience managing stakeholders, developing communication plans and facilitating communication including thorough follow-up in all aspects of the project covering business and technical meetings, among vendors and program staff. This position will require a candidate with excellent leadership skills along with strong written and oral presentation skills.
- 84 months experience with planning and managing knowledge and operational transfer of a high priority application following the waterfall, agile and hybrid Secured Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC) methodologies.
- 60 months experience with planning and managing legacy data migration and infrastructure upgrade projects involving commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products and ensuring vendor delivers expeditious and thorough implementation of version upgrades, installations, configurations, custom development, troubleshooting incidents and quality assurance.
- 84 months experience as a certified project management professional.
- 60 months of experience with planning and implementing legacy data migration projects, reports & dashboards development and data exchange between internal and external systems.
- 60 months experience managing projects in the government grant management area.
