EIM/Data Warehouse & BI Data Modeling - OMH projects as needed within the agency.
This position serves as EIM/Data Warehouse & BI – Data Modeler for the Office of Mental Health.
Day-to-Day tasks:
1.Review existing data model and recommend changes to support new and existing data requirements.
2.Analyze source system data to uncover data redundancy and duplication.
3.Maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models along with corresponding metadata.
4.Perform data analysis, discovery, profiling and identify cause of data issues and work with business team to resolve challenges.
5.Review models created by peer data modelers for ensuring implementation of standards.
6.Create physical models by either reverse engineering the model from database or from DDL scripts; create bitmap index and b-tree indexes wherever necessary in the model, check for the owner of the schema, data types, constraints, metadata etc.
7.Identify tables that need row level security and create fine grain policies in the models using ER/Studio for those entities that need row level security, table level security and tables that follows HIPAA standards.
8.Develop SQL queries for the analysis of source and target systems by connecting to Oracle database using toad and analyze each field, data type and the corresponding data across different source and target systems.
9.Work with business owners by identifying the data discrepancies and improve the overall data quality of enterprise systems.
10.Create data lineage documentation capturing and documenting system flow and other pertinent technical information about data, database design, or systems.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Software Architect: Makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards including software coding standards, tools, and platforms. Designs multi-leveled architecture or component interactions of a large-scale software system.
- Senior: 60 - 84 months: Candidate is able to work independently, without assistance and provides guidance to others. May have an advanced education.
Requested Qualifications:
- 66 Months experience with developing and maintaining logical and physical dimensional data models, building data migration strategies utilizing sound concepts of data modeling including star schema, snowflake schema, etc.
- 66 Months experience in ERStudio data architect data modeling tool.
- 66 Months experience in relational data management disciplines and design and development experience using Oracle technologies.
- 66 Months experience with SQL programming.
- 60 Months experience working with business intelligence tools (e.g., OBIEE 11G).
- 60 Months experience working with ETL tools (e.g. Informatica).
- 60 Months experience with designing, creating applications and health care Data Warehouse and business intelligence reporting solutions.
- 48 Months experience working with HIPAA requirements or similar standards and NYS Accessibility Standards.
- 48 Months experience with reviewing the data modeling of others for compliance and accepted standards of development.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business intelligence, information science or related field.
