Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Sr Electrical Design & Estimating Lead to provide technical expertise, leadership, and mentorship for our client’s growing engineering team. In this role, you will manage multiple concurrent proposals, estimates, and designs for electrical distribution, commercial, and industrial projects while driving continuous improvement and fostering strong customer relationships. Those experienced in overhead and underground distribution design will be given preference.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and authenticate engineering drawings and design information in strict compliance with established standards, procedures, and applicable electrical codes and specifications.
• Manage multiple proposals, estimates, and designs simultaneously; develop accurate project estimates and schedules based on customer drawings, scopes of work, and proposal details.
• Review, read, and comprehend complex electrical and construction plans provided by customers and consultants.
• Lead, train, and mentor drafting and design professionals, building team capacity and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Maintain key customer relationships while proactively identifying, supporting, and establishing new business opportunities and service lines.
• Meet tight deadlines, multi-task effectively, and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience working in an electrical engineering environment, with extensive hands-on experience in overhead and underground distribution design and cost estimating for electrical, commercial, or industrial projects.
• Recognized subject matter expert in electrical design, construction, and applicable codes/standards.
• Experienced coaching, professional development, and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to lead and build capacity in a growing team.
• Strong multi-tasking abilities, schedule development skills, and a talent for meeting tight deadlines.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience with industry software; Bluebeam, PLS-CADD, AGI-32, Microstation, and AutoCAD.
