Schedule: 8-hour shift (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Salary: $70,000.00 annually

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Shift Supervisor to oversee daily operations at our recycling facility. This role is responsible for supervising workers operating machinery that processes, sorts, separates, and bales recyclable household materials such as metal, glass, plastic, paper, and cardboard.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate 25–55 employees in production and equipment operations.

• Ensure compliance with company safety, health, environmental, and community policies.

• Monitor sorting lines, equipment operation, and baling processes.

• Assign tasks based on production schedules and demonstrate safe and efficient equipment use.

• Inspect machinery to ensure adherence to production standards.

• Prepare timekeeping, attendance, and production reports.

• Lead process improvement and quality teams to enhance productivity and workflow.

• Enter production and operational data into computer systems.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; equivalent business experience accepted.

• Previous supervisory experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical thinking.

• Ability to follow written procedures and detailed instructions.

• Capable of working for extended periods in a plant/industrial environment.

• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and lead by example.

• Comfortable being on your feet and actively walking most of the day.

• Basic computer skills (data entry, reporting).

• Must speak and understand English; Spanish is a plus.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, squatting, kneeling, and lifting.

• Regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs; occasionally up to 100 lbs.

• Work in loud, fast-paced environments with exposure to heat, cold, rain, dust, vibration, and moving mechanical parts.

• Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors under varying weather conditions.

• Requires visual acuity including close, distance, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
