Position: Part-Time Medical Receptionist
Location: Wesley Chapel, FL 33544
Pay Rate: $15 to $17 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Mondays / 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday (20–25 hours per week, additional hours may be needed)
Job Overview:
We are a growing pediatric medical practice in the heart of Wesley Chapel, dedicated to providing exceptional care for children. With two Board-Certified Pediatricians on staff, we are deeply involved in the community and believe every child is special. We are currently seeking a Part-Time Medical Receptionist with proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems. Experience with Intergy EMR is a plus.
This part-time position offers 20–25 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate additional hours as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer phone calls and assist patients with appointment scheduling and rescheduling.
- Communicate with office staff to ensure smooth patient flow and accommodate scheduling needs.
- Verify insurance through online portals or by phone.
- Prepare patient charts and assist patients with access to the Patient Portal.
- Process referral authorizations and manage medical records.
- Accurately scan and attach documents in the EMR system.
- Ensure patient forms are completed correctly and assist patients as needed.
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, coinsurance, and outstanding balances.
- Maintain organized medical records and manage fax and email correspondence.
- Provide excellent customer service and foster a team-oriented environment.
- Regularly check emails daily at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for updates and tasks.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a medical office setting (pediatric experience is a plus).
- Proficiency in EMR systems (Intergy EMR experience preferred).
- Strong computer and data entry skills, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills, both in person and over the phone.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible work hours, especially during extended summer hours.
- Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
- A friendly, professional demeanor with a passion for working with children.
Additional Expectations:
- Ensure timely updates on patient records, including scanning and processing tasks.
- Regularly check and manage daily emails and faxes.
- Complete daily medical receptionist updates and monthly reports, and email updates to the Office Manager.
- Be adaptable and work collaboratively within a team environment.
