Job Description
A leading, award-winning, cutting-edge consumer products company in the home products industry is expanding! With a global imprint of products distributed internationally, they’re growing and looking to hire a creative Packaging Designer to bring their brand’s mission to life! This is a temporary position, working 40 hours a week, hybrid (3/2) in the Sherman Oaks area of Los Angeles, CA area.As a temp Packaging Designer you can expect to:
- Design brand-centric packaging that also complies with government regulations
- Create packaging design for new brands or re-brand some of our customer’s favorites
- Communicate well with creative team, project managers, working to meet deadlines accordingly
- Develop mock ups and be part of the proof approval process
- Experience with DAM and project management systems
- Remain informed of new packaging trends, brand concepts and trends
The Packaging Designer profile includes:
- 5 years of packaging design and print packaging production experience
- BA/BA Degree in Graphic Design or similar
- Understanding of competitive landscape and trends in packaging design
- Possess exceptional skills in Adobe Creative Cloud- InDesign, Photoshop with excellent skills in Illustrator, Acrobat
- Ability to manage and direct projects from concept to completion in a timely manner
- Ensure project specifications, requirements, and handoffs are met
- Expert knowledge of substrate, packaging printing processes, die-lines
- Experience preparing prototypes and designs for brand presentations
- Deep understanding of packaging design, substrates, design constraints, bar codes, UPC, RFID
- Adept in print production process, retouching for a full range of packaging
- Able to perform and problem-solve with minimal to no supervision
- Able to multi-task and work within a fast paced, dynamic environment
- Desire to collaborate with a creative team and stay atop of market trends
- Excellent communication, verbal and written skills
- Familiarity and ability to work on MAC products
This is a 40/hr a week, hybrid (3 on/2 remote) temp position in the Sherman Oaks, CA area of Los Angeles. Salary is $38/hr - $47/hr DOE.
