The Opportunity
enhanceHCM is seeking a skilled and strategic M&A HR Strategic Lead Consultant to support human capital initiatives related to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and carve-outs. In this full-time, remote role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to clients undergoing significant organizational change. You'll provide consultative leadership across pre- and post-close activities, helping clients assess risk, ensure compliance, integrate systems, align cultures, and develop scalable people strategies that support business continuity and long-term success.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with clients to provide strategic HR and payroll insights during M&A due diligence and planning
  • Lead HCM-related workstreams through all phases of the transaction lifecycle (pre-close, Day 1, post-close integration)
  • Assess organizational structures, policies, and systems to identify opportunities and risks
  • Develop and execute transition strategies, including HR process integration, system migration, and workforce communication
  • Provide expertise in vendor selection, contract evaluation, and technology integration
  • Support data harmonization, benefits alignment, and compliance efforts across entities
  • Work closely with internal and client leadership to align human capital strategies with business objectives
  • Navigate complex change management initiatives and serve as a key resource for stakeholders

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in HR, payroll, or HCM consulting, with a focus on M&A or private equity-backed environments
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects across varying phases of the M&A lifecycle
  • Strong understanding of HCM systems, data migration, compliance, and post-close operations
  • Experience advising C-level executives and managing cross-functional project teams
  • Advanced relationship management and de-escalation skills, with a demonstrated ability to build trust, influence outcomes, and resolve conflicts across clients, vendors, and internal teams
  • Ability to work independently while leading and collaborating across multiple stakeholders
  • Professional certifications (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP, PMP) are a plus

Pay Range (where required by law):
For roles posted in states that require it, we provide a pay range to help you decide if this opportunity is a fit. For this position, the hourly range is $80
$100 per hour (actual pay will be based on experience, skills, and specific state/local requirements).
