Job Description

Project Manager – Utility-Scale Solar Construction

Own the execution of subcontracted and self-performed work in partnership with Senior Management, the Construction Manager, Project Engineers, and Superintendents. Full P&L accountability for your project from mobilization to closeout.

Responsibilities

  • Drive project execution — track production, refine forecasts, keep the master schedule current and on track.
  • Own project financials: billings, cash flow optimization with Finance, aged receivables collection, and cost reporting to management.
  • Negotiate change orders, subcontracts, and material purchases to protect margin.
  • Set up procurement, engineering review, and material delivery procedures that keep the job moving.
  • Identify and mitigate project risk before it becomes a claim — manage documentation on delays, accidents, and change orders.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise your project team; coordinate local labor providers for self-perform work as needed.
  • Own quality control with the QA/QC Manager — plan it, implement it, enforce it.
  • Run closeout: 100% documented, commissioned, and handed off clean to O&M.
  • Manage warranty claims post-turnover.
  • Be the face of the project — lead Owner meetings, manage the relationship with Owner, engineering consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Solve supply chain problems before they hit the schedule.
  • Support the Construction Manager on site Health & Safety implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture (preferred).
  • 5-8 years field construction management experience.
  • Deep knowledge of utility-scale PV construction — means, methods, sequencing.
  • Working knowledge of utility/ISO interconnection process and timelines.
  • Command of project controls: scheduling, cost control, procurement, estimating.
  • Active FL General Contractor, Electrical Contractor, or Certified Solar Contractor license is preferred.
  • Experience negotiating labor agreements with agencies/unions.
  • Valid driver's license, willingness to travel extensively.
  • MS Office proficiency plus construction scheduling software.
