Job Description
As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will lead the financial strategy and operations of a dynamic and fast-growing Renewable Energy Investment Fund headquartered in the Cayman Islands. As CFO, you will play a central role in guiding the fund’s financial direction, supporting capital deployment across clean energy assets, managing investor relationships, and ensuring financial integrity and regulatory compliance. - Lead the development and execution of the fund’s overall financial strategy, aligned with business growth and impact objectives.
- Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and Investment Committee on capital allocation, fundraising, and portfolio performance.
- Provide leadership in strategic planning, financial forecasting, and investment scenario analysis.
- Oversee all accounting processes, including but not limited to: AR, AP, monthly client invoicing, bank reconciliations, tax optimization, investments, corporate accounting and financial reporting.
- Prepare and manage all financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local regulatory standards.
- Oversee fund-level accounting, consolidations, NAV calculations, and investor reporting.
- Establish policies and controls that will improve our corporate accounting compliance posture.
- Monitor investment performance and provide regular financial analytics and insights to senior management and investors.
- Manage relationships with fund administrators, external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners for annual audits and filings.
- Lead cash flow planning across the fund and project entities.
- Monitor capital calls, distributions, and the timing of investments to align with fund strategy and investor expectations.
- Manage FX exposure, banking structures, and treasury policies in multiple jurisdictions.
- Support capital raising efforts by preparing investor presentations, data room materials, and financial models.
- Lead financial due diligence and respond to investor queries during fundraising and reporting cycles.
- Maintain ongoing communication with LPs on fund performance, financials, and impact reporting.
- Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts for operating projects and new developments.
- Lead annual budget planning and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) regulations and other relevant frameworks.
- Implement and monitor internal financial controls and risk management protocols.
- Assist in ESG reporting and impact measurement aligned with fund objectives.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of progressively senior financial leadership roles in fund management, private equity, project finance, or infrastructure investment.
- Professional designation: CPA, CA, CFA, or equivalent is highly desirable
- Deep understanding of investment fund structures, LP/GP Dynamics, and capital markets.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and experience working with third-party fund administrators and auditors.
- Self-motivated problem solver. Relentless focus on high quality results, attention to detail, and operational excellence.
- Excellent analytical, finance and accounting skills. Ability to proactively identify, understand and grasp issues, problems, business situations, and prevent issues from occurring.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating an ability to make complex issues and processes clear and understandable to key stakeholders and decision makers.
- Experience with renewable energy assets, impact investing, or ESG-aligned funds is desirable but not required.
- Familiarity with CIMA regulatory frameworks and Cayman Islands fund structures is a plus, but not required.
- Experience with Great Plains and Vivid systems is a plus, but not required.
