Job Description

As the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), you will lead revenue growth for a battery manufacturing company offering full-stack energy storage, management, security, and generation solutions. You will drive sales, business development, and go-to-market strategies across utility companies, C&I buildings, data centers, and defense sectors. The CRO will be responsible for expanding market share, optimizing revenue streams, and building high-impact partnerships while aligning sales, marketing, and customer success functions. This role requires a proven leader with deep industry expertise, a track record of scaling revenue, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory and energy market landscapes.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive revenue growth strategy across utility companies, C&I buildings, data centers, and defense sectors.
  • Drive top-line growth by aligning sales, marketing, and customer success with business goals.
  • Identify and establish new revenue streams, including partnerships, government incentives, and subscription-based models.
  • Lead and optimize the sales team to drive customer acquisition and retention.
  • Build high-impact relationships with utilities, enterprise clients, and government agencies.
  • Expand sales channels, including direct sales, partnerships, and integrators.
  • Oversee contract negotiations and pricing strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Define and execute a go-to-market (GTM) strategy for energy storage, management, security, and generation solutions.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to refine positioning.
  • Lead international expansion efforts where applicable.
  • Develop and oversee a robust customer lifecycle strategy to enhance adoption and satisfaction.
  • Implement metrics-driven customer retention strategies to drive recurring revenue.
  • Align product and service offerings to meet evolving customer energy needs.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations to ensure revenue-aligned innovation.
  • Work closely with Finance to ensure revenue predictability and profitability.
  • Partner with Marketing to create demand-generation campaigns and brand positioning.
  • Set and monitor KPIs, including revenue targets, conversion rates, and customer LTV.
  • Oversee forecasting, budgeting, and reporting to ensure sustainable revenue growth.
  • Develop data-driven insights to optimize sales efficiency and market penetration. 
  • Represent the company in conferences, industry panels, and government policy discussions.
  • Advocate for the company’s technology in regulatory and industry forums.
Requirements:
  • 10-15 years in battery manufacturing, energy storage, renewables or grid infrastructure
  • Deep knowledge of energy markets, utility procurement, demand response, microgrids, and energy-as-a-service models.
  • Experience working with utility companies, C&I buildings, data centers, and defense sectors.
  • Proven track record of scaling revenue from $10 to 100M+ (or equivalent growth stage)
  • Strong background in contract negotiations, pricing models, and revenue forecasting.
  • Ability to establish high-value partnerships with utilities, EPCs, system integrators, and policy makers.
  • Familiarity with energy regulations, incentives, and policy frameworks (e.g., FERC, IRA, DOE funding, ITC/PPA structures).
  • Experience working with government agencies on energy security and infrastructure projects is a plus.
  • Ability to establish high-value partnerships with utilities, EPCs, system integrators, and policy makers.
