SCADA Developer (Ignition) – Oil & Gas Midstream

About the Opportunity

Our client is a growing midstream operator with assets in some of the busiest energy basins in the U.S. They're looking for a SCADA Developer with deep Ignition experience to become the go-to authority on their control and data systems.

This isn't a role spent only on keeping the lights on. You'll shape the direction of the SCADA environment by choosing the tools, setting the standards, and leading the projects that field operations and engineering depend on every day. You'll be based at the Dallas headquarters and work a hybrid schedule.

What You'll Do

Build and Own the Platform

• Take ownership of the SCADA system's architecture, performance, and long-term roadmap.
• Plan and lead upgrades, rollouts, and modernization efforts.
• Establish consistent development standards across projects and sites, and diagnose issues when they come up.
• Evaluate emerging SCADA, HMI, and IIoT tools and bring the right ones into production.

Bridge Operations and Technology

• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, IT, and producer customers to align system capabilities with business needs.
• Support leak detection programs and integration work that ties SCADA into other platforms.
• Improve the accuracy, consistency, and usability of operational data across the organization.

Serve as the Technical Lead

• Create documentation and training so others can use and support the system.
• Advise leadership on technical direction and architecture choices.
• Manage relationships with vendors, integrators, and technology partners.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of hands-on development with Inductive Automation Ignition.
• Strong command of Ignition Perspective.
• Working knowledge of MQTT, Sparkplug B, Modbus, and Node-RED.
• Comfort administering both Windows and Linux environments.
• A track record of diagnosing and improving industrial automation systems.
• Experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs in an industrial setting.
• Familiarity with industrial electrical systems and field instrumentation.
• Background in oilfield, midstream, pipeline, or similar operations-heavy environments.
