Senior Electrical Engineer (PE) 100% Remote (U.S.)

A growing design-build engineering firm is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer (PE) to join its expanding team. This is a 100% remote opportunity for an engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects from concept through construction while working on complex industrial facilities across the United States.
This position offers the flexibility of working from anywhere in the U.S. while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams on high-impact industrial projects. Limited travel is required for site visits, client meetings, and construction support.
What You'll Do
As the lead electrical engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering complete electrical designs and providing technical leadership throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead electrical engineering efforts for industrial design-build projects from concept through construction.
- Design power distribution, lighting, grounding, and electrical systems for industrial and manufacturing facilities.
- Coordinate with mechanical, structural, controls, and architectural teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Produce construction drawings, specifications, calculations, and engineering documentation.
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide engineering support during construction.
- Perform power system analysis, equipment selection, and electrical calculations.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers while maintaining high-quality engineering standards.
- Serve as the primary electrical engineering resource for clients and internal project teams.
- Participate in occasional travel for site assessments, project meetings, commissioning support, and field inspections.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Must be willing to obtain Professional Engineer licensure in additional U.S. states as project needs require.
- 10+ years of electrical engineering experience within industrial, manufacturing, architectural, or design-build environments.
- Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), applicable building codes, and industry standards.
- Experience leading projects from design through construction.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Experience
While not required, experience in any of the following is highly desirable:
- Food & beverage manufacturing facilities
- Cold storage or freezer warehouse facilities
- Refrigerated processing environments
- Industrial automation or process facilities
- Design-build project delivery
Technical Skills
Experience with several of the following:
- AutoCAD
- Revit (preferred)
- Bluebeam
- SKM Power Tools or similar power system analysis software
- Electrical calculations, short-circuit studies, and coordination studies
- Microsoft Office Suite
