Job Description
Senior Electrical Engineer (PE) – Remote (U.S.)
Design-Build Engineering | Industrial Food & Cold Storage Projects
A fast-growing engineering and construction consulting group is expanding its electrical team and is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer (PE) to take ownership of complex, large-scale industrial projects across the U.S.
This role is fully remote, with short-duration travel required for key project milestones such as site walks, client meetings, and construction progress reviews (typically 1–3 days at a time).
What You’ll Be Doing
You won’t just review designs—you’ll own them.
- Lead electrical engineering efforts on multidisciplinary design-build projects from concept through issued-for-construction packages
- Produce and guide detailed electrical system designs for industrial facilities, including power distribution, automation integration, and specialized environments
- Act as the primary electrical point of contact for internal teams, clients, and field personnel
- Review submittals and shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and support construction teams through project execution
- Mentor junior engineers and designers while ensuring quality and consistency across deliverables
- Contribute to the evolution of internal design standards, templates, and engineering workflows
- Assist with technical consulting for both internal stakeholders and external clients
- Participate in periodic travel for site evaluations, coordination meetings, and inspections
What You Bring to the Table
This is not an entry-level design role. You need real project ownership experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license with the ability to obtain licensure in multiple states
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in electrical design within construction, industrial, or architectural environments
- Strong working knowledge of applicable electrical codes, building standards, and energy regulations
- Experience supporting projects through full lifecycle: design, documentation, and construction
- Understanding of construction processes, cost considerations, and project execution realities
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with electrical design and analysis tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam, SKM or similar platforms)
- Familiarity with power system modeling and short circuit/coordination studies
- Experience with BIM tools (Revit preferred), or the ability to ramp up quickly
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, distributed engineering environment
What Stands Out
- Experience with industrial facilities, automated systems, or temperature-controlled environments
- Background in design-build project delivery
- Ability to operate with minimal oversight and drive decisions
Compensation & Structure
- Hourly, full-time role with overtime eligibility
- Compensation aligned with experience, licensure, and project leadership capability
- Remote-first flexibility with structured project-based travel
